But, would you pay for all activision games (i.e. a fee that covers not one game, but all games from that publisher), or all EA games? That's probably the more likely model.

Pachter has said that his job is fun because he gets to assume everyone he talks about are greedy bastards. His job is to look at ways and predict how they can exercise that greediness.

The position is for a lighting artist. Has nothing to do with online stuff. Naughty Dog is just looking for someone with experience on the current platforms "PS3, XBOX 360, and/or PC"

Just like The Macarena was... for a while.

If i understand your response right, then the hit to the CPU essentially would be set?

My thought was if they could switch it on and off, then they could have a game like, for example, Bioshock running with full graphics, AI, and physics, then switch to Kinect controls during things like the hacking mini-game. Creating places in the game where the CPU can spare the power to do Kinect enabled mini-games, essentially.

But there is a pretty wide range of wavelengths in IR, and the Kinect sensor is probably pretty specific in what it looks for. Also the Kinect IR emitter probably emits a lot more "brightness" than any ambient IR sources.

Oh, and statistically speaking your body also emits some visible light (look up "blackbody radiation"). Does that mean it interferes with Move? No, because the amount of visible light you radiate is negligible. I'm not a fan of Ki...

At least for me they were. ;-)

The leaked Kinect specs say the range is 1.2 - 3.5 meters. They look to be near the outside edge of that. I don't know if that's a defense of Kinect or a statement of a weakness, but I mean it as neither.

I think Kinect could do some neat stuff, but developers have to be aware of, and work around, its shortcomings. One thing I'm wondering is how easily - if at all - can Kinect be "switched on" within a game. I know we won't be seeing Kinect used as a main control system in core games, but is it possible to use it for mini-game type situations? Can developers create situations where the CPU load is decreased enough to introduce Kinect features?

I don't stop her from watching them. If she enjoys something that I don't, so be it. I'm not going to tell her she can't watch those movies just because I think they're bad.

I think Kinect is crappy, but if other people have fun with it, so be it. I'm going to be enjoying playing Heavy Rain, Killzone 3, et cetera with Move, but if someone else has fun playing Kinect Adventures, let them.

It was telling the girl on the right to move left and the girl on the left to move right, when they were already shoulder to shoulder. I think the Kinect was just wanting them to rub up against each other more. I know I was.

They do want gamers to take it seriously, they just don't care if YOU don't take it seriously.

A console version would be different. I don't know the technical stuff, maybe it would have to be "dumbed down" to run on consoles, but that wouldn't affect the PC version in any way. If people who don't have gaming PCs want to play a potentially inferior version on their consoles, it won't affect your PC experience, so don't worry about them.

Anton Mikhailov has said that he rigged up a PC with a PS3 and used Move to control Starcraft. I think he said it works really well.

Click the link at the bottom of the article. It brings you to the product page, which clearly states at the top that it's an extension cable. It probably extends the "Wi-Fi extension cable" that comes with Kinect.

And at a time of day that you can specify from the XMB. If you leave it alone, it will do it automatically tonight if it didn't last night. If you need it now, you'll just have to do it.

The main benefit of the automatic updates, imo, is it keeps all your games on the current version without having to update when you play them.

"Here's the things I hate. Don't argue against me!"

Why not just use the "Anyone who disagrees with me is a fanboy!" claim?
